Patient Walkthrough

Once you arrive at St John’s Church premise enter through the side entrance the right side of the Church building. There will be members of the team to greet you and provide directions and/or take you to the Research Clinic. The Research Clinic will be signposted, if you are unsure please ask a member of staff and they will be happy to help.

Please go to the reception desk; one of our team will sign you in and provide you with a study pack labelled with a unique identification number. You will need to keep this pack with you while you are in the clinic; it contains useful information for you and the team.

See the study flow diagram for information about what will happen during your appointment. Please read our patient information sheet by clicking here for more information about your appointment.

It is important not to eat or drink 30 minutes before giving your cheek swab sample. If you have recently eaten or drank before attending your appointment it is not a problem, inform one of the team and they will delay your swab till the end of your appointment.

If you would like to ask any questions or change your mind about participating, speak to one of our team at any stage.

Please help yourself to complimentary refreshments after your cheek swab sample. It is advised that individuals do not drive until the effects of the dilating drops have worn off which may take up to two hours.

Thank you for taking part in the Bridlington eye assessment project.
